This week’s Missouri college Players of the Week are Hanna Williams, MWSU; and Conley Garrison, DU; and Calvin Giles, Jr., HSSU.
Hanna Williams, sophomore, Missouri Western (Plattsburg H.S.)
Hanna Williams became the first Griffon to register an NCAA Division II automatic qualifying mark. She did while beating her own school record with a 54.37 in the 400m. Williams also earned herself a provisional in the 200m and set another school record there as well, running it 24.73.
Conley Garrison, sophomore, Drury (Bolivar H.S.)
Drury has now won five straight and Garrison led the way to the latest two victories, picking up victories Maryville and Missouri S&T at home. The sophomore averaged 25.0 points on 18-of-27 shooting (10-of-19 from behind the arc), as well as 8.0 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 rebounds for the week.
Calvin Giles, Jr., senior, Harris-Stowe
The Hornets went 2-1 last week and stayed above .500 in AMC play, with solid play from Giles. The senior posted three double-doubles with an impressive stat line for the week averaging 11.0 points, 15.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and a steal and an assist per game.
