KIRKSVILLE – The 23rd-ranked Rockhurst Hawks bounced back from a pair of road losses to sweep Truman State 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-21) Tuesday night in Kirksville, Missouri.
Emily Matio led the Hawks (23-5, 11-3 GLVC) with 10 kills and four blocks. Alyssa Woodman posted nine kills and 10 digs. Karli Reichert also had nine kill.. Emma Kriete posted eight kills, while Kalie Arnold collected a team-high 25 digs. Dani Prusha tallied 26 assists and eight digs.
Set One: Rockhurst 25, Truman State 21
The Hawks jumped to a 12-6 lead. Matio tallied four kills and two blocks.
Set Two: Rockhurst 25, Truman State 22
Rockhurst held off a late Truman State rally after holding a 15-8 lead. Reichert posted six kills.
Set Three: Rockhurst 25, Truman State 21
The Hawks closed the set on an 11-5 run to rally from a 16-14 deficit. Matio and Woodman combined for 10 kills.
Player of the Match
Emily Matio. The senior middle hitter only had three hitting errors while collecting a .368 hitting percentage. Six of her 10 kills came in the third set.
