Former head women’s volleyball coach at St. Louis College of Pharmacy, Ryan VonFeldt, will return to STLCOP Athletics to head up the inaugural Eutectic Men’s Volleyball Team in the spring of 2020.
VonFeldt began coaching at STLCOP in 1998 as the assistant women’s volleyball coach and took over the head coaching role for the Eutectics in 2000. After the 2006 women’s fall season, he left the College to help start the boys’ volleyball program at Althoff Catholic High School in 2007. He was head coach at Althoff until 2010, when his family moved from Collinsville, Ill., to St. Charles, Mo.
Once in St. Charles, VonFeldt signed on to become the head coach of the Francis Howell North boys’ varsity volleyball team. During his 10-year tenure at Howell North, the Knights won three conference championships and made four state tournament appearances. In addition to coaching volleyball, he also acted as assistant coach for the Knights’ football team for nine years.
STLCOP Director of Athletics, Jill Harter, is thrilled to have VonFeldt head up the new STLCOP program.
“We’re excited to welcome Ryan back to STLCOP,” said Harter. “As head men’s volleyball coach, he can leverage his experience from starting and building a successful volleyball program from scratch.”
Men’s Volleyball is the latest in a growing STLCOP athletics program and will compete in its first intercollegiate competition starting in spring 2020.
