DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Culver-Stockton College women’s volleyball team lost in straight sets at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa, Tuesday night.
The first two sets were relatively competitive with the Pride earning 25-20, 25-17 victories. Clarke completely dominated the third set, earning a 25-9 victory.
The Wildcats struggled at the net, totaling 24 kills on 98 attempts in the match. C-SC also tallied 20 hitting errors which led to a lowly 4.1 percent hitting percentage. By contrast, the Pride had 99 attempts and 41 kills with only 11 hitting errors (30.3 percent).
Madison McClain led the Wildcats with 10 kills. It was the sixth time in seven matches McClain has reached double digits in kills this season. Jada Perkins added five kills, while Ali Scott and Cameron Prenter recorded three terminations each.
Defensively, Ellie Packer garnered 16 of the 41 digs by the Wildcats. Perkins and McClain registered seven digs each, while MaKayla Conway had two solo blocks at the net.
C-SC, now 1-6 overall and 1-4 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, returns to action this Thursday, Oct. 1, at home against Evangel University. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Charles Field House.
