CARY, N.C. – After a third place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championship, three Mules were selected to the All-Tournament Team. Second baseman Michael Sinks, third baseman Harrison Schnurbusch and outfielder Mason Janvrin all had tremendous weeks in Cary and were recognized for their efforts.
Schnurbusch was the Mules top hitter for five games, going 10-19 with five runs and four driven in. He also stole a team-leading three bases.
Janvrin hit .348 for the Mules in Cary with eight hits in 23 at bats. He drove in a team-high tying six runs and scored four times. Two of Mason’s hits went for extra bases with a double and triple.
Sinks returned from a hand injury which held him out of the super regionals to play in the final three games of the national championship. Sinks was inserted into the lineup at second base and collected five hits in 12 at bats while driving in three runs.
Schnurbusch and Janvrin each had at least one hit in each game. Schnurbusch had three multiple hit games including two three-hit games while Janvrin was the only Mule with two two-RBI games. Sinks had multiple hits in two of three games played. All three performed well in clutch situations with Janvrin going 4-7 with runners in scoring position, Schnurbusch 2-3 and Sinks 3-4. Schnurbusch also drove in three two-out RBI.
