JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Gabe Trowbridge won the 2019 Blue Tiger Invitational, presented by Aflac, with a 221 while the Lincoln men’s golf team placed fourth overall on Tuesday. The three-round tournament, hosted by Lincoln University, was played at the Jefferson City Country Club.
Gabe Trowbridge shot a 74 in each of the final two rounds after opening the tournament with a 73 on Monday. His 35 pars were the second-most by any player in the tourney, and he had 42 total holes with par or better.
This is the second career tournament championship for Gabe Trowbridge during his time as a Blue Tiger, as he won the Payne Stewart Invitational this past May. He also becomes the first Lincoln player to win a collegiate tourney since 2016, when Blake Lammers won the individual title at the MIAA Championship.
Jordan Barnett also finished in the top-10, tying for 10th with a three-round total of 235. Barnett carded a 75 in the opening round and a 78 in the second before shooting an 82 on Tuesday. Logan Taylor, meanwhile, came in 14 after shooting a 238. Taylor opened the tournament with an 80 in each of the first two rounds before tallying a 78 during the final round.
Brayden Watts placed 26th after shooting rounds of 83, 79 and 82 for a final sum of 244. Carson Doerhoff closed out Lincoln’s team effort with a 256 after carding scores of 85, 84 and 87.
Three other Blue Tigers played as individuals, including Brett Trowbridge, who came in 25th with a total of 243. Brett Trowbridge shot an 82 in each of the first two rounds before finishing the tourney with a 79.
Austin Siebeneck carded a 254 after improving his score in each of the three rounds. Siebeneck opened the tournament with an 86, carded an 85 in the second round and fired an 83 in the third round. Jacob Krantz, meanwhile, shot rounds of 82, 98 and 97 to end the tournament with a 277.
Lincoln will close its fall slate with the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate, set to be played in Waikoloa, Hawaii at the King’s Course from Oct. 28-30.
