CANTON – A record-setting performance from quarterback Korbin Marcum helped Culver-Stockton defeat Evangel at home to get the 2020 season underway.
The Wildcats (1-0) scored 18 unanswered pointed in the fourth quarter and beat the Crusaders, 34-17, on Saturday.
C-SC racked up 498 yards of total offense on the day. Marcum completed 25 of 46 passes for 257 yards and tossed four touchdowns. Along the way, he became the school’s all-time leader in TD passes with 58, surpassing the old mark of 54 set by Jon Enrico.
Jordan Grant led the way on the ground for the Wildcats with a career-high 142 rushing yards on 19 carries.
Evangel (0-1) was held to just 179 total yards in the loss.
